The Educators Well
Who we are, what we do, and how the Well fits together.
The Educators Well is a growing professional wellbeing, learning and connection ecosystem created for educators.
It brings together wellbeing, professional learning, mentoring, accredited training, community, practical resources and opportunities for connection, with one central belief: supporting educators matters.
The Educators Well is designed to help educators build sustainable, fulfilling careers while feeling supported, valued, capable and connected.
The Educators Well has been created with educators at its heart, particularly those working across early childhood education and care, Family Day Care, In-Home Care and related education settings.
Some learning opportunities, resources and training may also be suitable for students, leaders, services and other professionals working alongside educators.
The Educators Well is based in South East Queensland, Australia.
Online learning, resources and many parts of The Educators Well can be accessed by educators across Australia, while face-to-face training and services are available in selected locations.
The Educators Well was founded by Rachel Smith, an educator mentor, trainer and wellbeing advocate with almost 20 years of experience across Family Day Care, In-Home Care and Early Childhood Education.
Rachel created The Educators Well from a belief that educators deserve more than reminders to “look after themselves”. They deserve practical tools, meaningful professional learning and communities that support them to build sustainable careers.
The WELL Framework
The four pillars, how the journey works, and what is included.
The WELL Framework is the core learning journey within The Educators Well.
It explores four interconnected pillars:
Wellbeing First — Caring for me is caring for them.
Empower Through Learning — My learning journey belongs to me.
Lead With Purpose — Leadership begins with me.
Lift Each Other Up — We rise by lifting others.
Rather than telling educators what wellbeing or professional growth should look like, The WELL Framework encourages reflection, discovery and practical action.
No.
Wellbeing is an important foundation, but The WELL Framework goes much further.
Educators explore their wellbeing, learning, self-leadership, relationships, professional practice, community and the influence they have on the people around them.
The aim is not simply to complete a course. It is to build knowledge, strategies and practices that educators can continue using long after they finish.
Yes.
The WELL Framework is designed as a self-paced learning journey so you can move through it in a way that works for you.
There is no expectation that every educator will complete the journey at the same speed.
There is deliberately no set number of weeks you must take to complete The WELL Framework.
Some educators may move through lessons regularly, while others may spend longer reflecting, practising strategies or returning to particular ideas.
The journey is designed to support meaningful learning rather than racing toward completion.
You can work through The WELL Framework at your own pace during your access period.
Your account will show your access information so you know how long you have available.
The WELL Framework includes guided online learning, reflective activities, practical tools and resources, The WELL Journal and opportunities to connect your learning with your professional practice.
Your journey begins with Before You Start before moving through the four WELL pillars and concluding by bringing your learning together and considering what comes next.
No.
Your personal reflections and journal activities are yours.
The Educators Well has been intentionally designed to give educators space to reflect honestly without requiring personal reflections to be shared with an employer or service.
No.
Your WELL Journal, personal reflections and private activities are not available to your service simply because you are connected with them.
Where service connection features are available, services may be able to see limited participation or progress information, but your private reflective content remains private.
Yes.
Team and service enrolment options are available for organisations wanting to support multiple educators through The WELL Framework.
Contact The Educators Well to discuss your team and the most appropriate enrolment option.
Finishing the learning modules does not have to mean the end of your journey.
The WELL Framework is designed to help you take what you have discovered into your professional practice, relationships, leadership and ongoing learning.
The wider Educators Well ecosystem also provides opportunities to continue learning, connecting and growing.
The WELL Trail & Community
The wider journey, The WELL Village, and what is still being built.
The WELL Trail is the wider journey through The Educators Well.
The WELL Framework sits at its heart, with other destinations, resources and opportunities developing around it.
The WELL Trail helps bring the different parts of The Educators Well together so you can explore the opportunities that are relevant to you rather than feeling like you need to participate in everything.
Not at all.
The WELL Trail is about choice.
Different educators need different things at different stages of their careers and lives. You can engage with the learning, resources, community and opportunities that are useful to you.
The WELL Village is the community space within The Educators Well, created to support connection and conversation between educators.
Respectful participation and the wellbeing and safety of community members are important parts of the space.
The Educators Well is intentionally being developed over time.
New learning opportunities, resources and ways to connect will continue to be introduced as they are ready.
