Educator Wellbeing Check-In
Educators spend so much time noticing and responding to the needs of others that their own wellbeing can become easy to overlook. This gentle check-in creates space to pause, notice how you are travelling and recognise where a little more support may be helpful.
Created for early childhood educators, Family Day Care educators, teachers and leaders, it offers a private moment of reflection on your current wellbeing and working experience. There are no right or wrong answers.
A moment to check in with yourself
This tool is not about judging how well you are coping or adding another task to your list. It is an opportunity to slow down, reflect honestly and notice what feels steady, what feels stretched and what may need your attention.

How the check-in works
The check-in takes about three minutes. You read fifteen short statements about the past two weeks — covering energy and recovery, emotional load, boundaries and capacity, support and connection, and meaning and confidence — and choose how often each one has felt true for you. Everything happens in your own browser.
- 1. Reflect. Answer fifteen statements, one at a time, choosing from Never through to Almost always. You can go back and change any answer before you finish.
- 2. Notice. You see a written reflection for each of the five areas, an overall reflection, and one or two areas you may want to support, each with a gentle suggested next step.
- 3. Keep it if you wish. You can note one small step and a date for yourself, then download or print your reflection. Nothing is saved once you close the page.
Your wellbeing matters
Educator wellbeing is more than an individual responsibility or an occasional act of self-care. It is shaped by workload, relationships, leadership, workplace culture, professional identity, personal circumstances and access to meaningful support. Caring for yourself is not separate from caring for others—it helps create the foundations for sustainable professional practice.
Continue your wellbeing journey
This check-in is a reflective wellbeing resource and is not a diagnostic or crisis-support service. If you are concerned about your mental or physical health, consider speaking with a qualified health professional.
